Sequelae of scarlet fever, such as nephritis and nephrosis, albuminuria, erythrocyturia; tendency toward oedema; myocarditis, possibly with coronary disorders of the circulation, angina pectoris, cardiac neurosis, otitis media, rheumatoid diseases.

Acts primarily on the kidneys and, therefore, also on the skin (in view of the relationship between kidneys and skin); also for squamous, red rimmed, dry skin diseases, e.g. psoriasis, particularly in patients of puffy appearance (while Diphtherinum-Injeel is preferred for slim persons and acts predominantly on the heart). Usually, patients with weak, soft connective tissue also suffer from disturbances of the renal function (Professor Müller). The action on the renal function by Scarlatinum-Injeel is comparable with that of Berberis-Injeel and Berberis-Homaccord; therefore, good possibilities exist for combination with these two preparations. Also Berberis-Homaccord is suited to puffy types. After combined administration, often good dehydrating effects are observed in nephrogenous oedema.

While the Diphtherinum patient has a red-coated tongue, is lean and subject to cardiac affections, the Scarlatinum patient has a clean, smooth tongue, as if glazed (raspberry tongue, apis tongue, Mercur. corros. tongue), is pasty and puffy with a tendency toward oedema. Therefore, Scarlatinum-Injeel acts favorably in phlegmatic types, and Diphtherinum-Injeel in erethismic patients.
