Histamine is a biogenic amine and belongs to the group of tissue hormones. These are understood to be active substances which are not produced in certain organs but in many tissues.

Indications

All clinical pictures, symptoms, conditions, etc. for which the excessive action of histamine can be held responsible in allergic diseases such as bronchial asthma, rhinitis vasomotorica, allergic skin diseases; further, gastritis and duodenitis with or without ulceration, gastro- and intestinal spasms, increased secretion of the salivary and lacrimal glands, as well as of the bronchial glands, certain forms of headache. Since histamine is contained also in many alcoholic drinks, Histamin-Injeel is also indicated experimentally for many disorders arising from alcohol. Since histamine is also released in large quantities when burns, contusions, fractures or tissue destruction occur, Histamin-Injeel and forte is indicated in addition for these traumas.

According to Julian, a rapidly acting remedy, showing excellent results in particular in children (backwardness at school with character difficulties). The children cannot calculate or remember numbers. Amnesia, restlessness, fear and depression. Uncontrollable strangury, without neglecting to wash the hands. Lancinating pains, worsening at night, also pains streaking from one temple to the other. Pains in the occiput, chronic conjunctivitis, pain in the eyes and sleeplessness from midnight until 6 a.m. Ptosis with a sleepy appearance, facial neuralgia and paresis, suppurating otorrhoea, progressive deafness, ozena, ulceration of the vocal chords, aphonia on the eve of menstruation; chronic asthma in warm, wet weather. Lancinating cardiac pains; sensation of boiling fluid flowing in the arteries (Julian).

Salivation, gastritis acida, sensation of soreness in the esophagus, flatulence, fissura ani, bleeding haemorrhoids, incontinentia urinae, impotentia virilis, fluor albus, dysmenorrhoea, pruritus vulvae. Various diseases of the bones, e.g. caries of the vertebrae and other bones, cysts of the bones, ostealgia, periosteal pain, osteochondrosis, kyphosis of adolescence, alopecia, lichen ruber planus, copper-coloured blotches on the skin, vitiligo, onychorrhexis (longitudinal fissures). Condition worsened by extreme cold and heat, in wet weather and especially during the night, in fact, from dusk to dawn, bringing about fear of the night due to the mental and physical exhaustion upon waking. Condition improved by gentle movement. Further, for a tendency toward addiction (especially a craving for alcohol); deviations of character, psychosis, malignancy and fleeting outbreaks of anger, melancholia, hopelessness, tendency to suicide, tremors, flurry, nocturnal restlessness with anxiety.

Doubts regarding recovery, fear of becoming mentally deranged, indifference toward fellow human beings; the patient can no longer derive pleasure from anything; unmotivated laughing and weeping.

Ferrum aceticum-Injeel

Ornithogalum umbellatum-Injeel

Inflammatory and vesicular skin affections, nausea and emesis, e.g. in ulcus ventriculi et duodeni.

Antimonium suifuratum aurantiacum-Injeel

For auxiliary/additional therapy in bronchial carcinoma (particularly post-operative); chronic bronchitis and smoker’s catarrh (in this connection bronchial carcinoma should not be overlooked).

Cholecystopathy, hepatopathy, gastroenteritis, catarrh of the ear passages.

Side effects

Increased flow of saliva may recur after taking this medication; in such an event, do not continue therapy with this preparation.
